What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy is a therapeutic relationship between a licensed music therapist and client in which the client uses music interventions such as music improvisation, song writing, singing, instrument playing, making music, and listening to music for the purpose of supporting the client's health and wellness. Simply put, in music therapy we are using music to support your wellness! Music therapy is tailored to each individual to support each persons needs, music interests, and abilities. Whether you are a professional musician or you have never picked up an instrument, music therapy is a great fit for anyone that loves music and is looking for support.
Music Therapy can help with:
Self expression, stress management, mood support and supplemental support for goals addressed in other therapeutic modalities
At Your Song Music Therapy hosted at BMC, April focuses their work with teens and adults who are musicians or aspiring musicians seeking mental health support.
